Founders Story
Dr. Christina Alicia Campbell, founder of Academe180 and author of The ABCs of Negotiating, has always been passionate about entrepreneurship and empowering others. Growing up as a first-generation college student in Los Angeles, California, Dr. Campbell learned the value of sisterhood and the importance of support from her two older sisters and mother. As a result, she has become a mentor and support for young women and early career professionals for over 15 years.
As a busy professor and entrepreneur, Dr. Campbell understands the struggles of marketing, social media presence, and launching a brand or business while balancing other personal and professional goals. She has a heart for those in the early stages of entrepreneurship and can see the potential in brands and businesses even before they gain traction and major attention. This passion led her to develop BlkGirlFollowTrain, a platform that provides free social media marketing support to Black women entrepreneurs year-round and emphasizes the importance of promoting clicks, not cliques.
Through BlkGirlFollowTrain, Dr. Campbell combines her passion for entrepreneurship, mentorship, and networking with helping Black women entrepreneurs overcome the financial challenges of marketing and reach a wider audience. Her vision for the platform is to provide accessible resources and support to help Black women entrepreneurs achieve their business goals and succeed in their careers.
In addition to her work with Academe180 and BlkGirlFollowTrain, Dr. Campbell is also a full-time mom to her goddaughter. She continues to mentor young women and girls in her community and wants the world to understand that Black women supporting Black women is “A CULTURE, NOT A TREND”.
